Ya’akov runs “Heaven’s Gate,” a small, run-down synagogue in Jerusalem under threat of closure from the big synagogue nearby. On Yom Kippur Ya’akov gathers worshippers for the "Neilah" service. During his organization of the event he discovers the deaf warden asleep behind a locked door. Ya’akov will stop at nothing to open the door to start the service.
