As he does every day, Yutz, who has been poetically constipated for years, is sipping his morning beer and observing the lives of the café’s patrons. This daily routine is disrupted when the landlord enters the café and hands Leah and her daughter Nurit a demolition order for the building of the cafe. Meanwhile, others begin to gather at the café: a stuttering alcoholic who lost his pants in a drinking bet with a beautiful Russian girl; an Arab painter, who has just been released from an insane asylum after having suffered a nervous breakdown; a heartbroken rock guitarist, desperately seeking a bowl of white rice; and the "Belgian." Each trys to make sense of life via the camera lens. Through a bizarre chain of events, they eventually all band together to save Café Braun, and with it a piece of themselves.
